About the Role
As a Registered Nurse (RN) - Recovery, you will care for patients during the critical period immediately following surgery and anesthesia. This full-time, on-site position in Detroit places you within a fast-paced clinical setting at DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital — Michigan's first Level I Trauma Center and home to the state's first and largest verified burn center, one of only 43 such centers in the nation. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 may be available based on relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor patients recovering from surgery and anesthesia, assessing vital signs and clinical status
- Manage pain, airway stability, and post-operative complications with prompt intervention
- Coordinate care alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the multidisciplinary team
- Document patient progress accurately and communicate updates to receiving units and families
- Uphold patient safety standards and evidence-based recovery protocols
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Michigan
- Clinical nursing experience, ideally in a recovery, PACU, or perioperative setting
- Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and communication abilities
- Capacity to thrive in a high-acuity, trauma-focused hospital environment
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care
