Regional Director, Midwest

Sterling Group is hiring a full-time Regional Director, Midwest to lead and grow our real estate operations from our base in Grand Rapids, Kent County. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a seasoned executive ready to shape strategy across one of the country's most dynamic regional markets.

About the Role

As Regional Director, Midwest, you will own performance, growth, and operational excellence across Sterling Group's multifamily housing and self-storage portfolio throughout the region. Working closely with our hands-on executive team, you'll translate company-wide goals into regional results, partnering across development, construction, property management, and investment management to keep every part of the business moving in the same direction. This is an in-office, full-time position based in Grand Rapids, Kent County — not a remote role.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct regional strategy and day-to-day operations across multifamily and self-storage assets in the Midwest.
• Lead, mentor, and align cross-functional teams spanning development, construction, property management, and investment management.
• Drive financial performance, occupancy, and operational efficiency against established targets.
• Collaborate with senior executives who stay involved in the business daily to execute on growth initiatives.
• Build and strengthen relationships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders across multiple states.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in real estate operations, ideally within multifamily housing and/or self-storage.
• Strong command of vertically integrated real estate functions, including development, construction, and property and investment management.
• Track record of managing teams and delivering measurable results across multiple markets.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Willingness to work on-site in Grand Rapids, Kent County.
