Publix Super Markets is hiring a Refrigeration Hardware Technician 1 for our Facilities team in Loxahatchee, Palm Beach County. This is a full-time position supporting the refrigeration systems that keep our retail stores running smoothly across the Broward and Palm Beach region.
About the Role
As a Refrigeration Hardware Technician 1, you'll be the hands-on expert ensuring our store refrigeration systems operate reliably. You'll manage preventive maintenance schedules, diagnose hardware issues, and execute repairs on the refrigeration equipment that's critical to store operations. Your work directly impacts food safety, product quality, and customer experience across our locations.
What You'll Do
- Perform preventive maintenance on commercial refrigeration units, compressors, condensers, and associated hardware
- Respond to and resolve daily refrigeration service requests from retail facilities
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and execute repairs to minimize downtime
- Document maintenance activities and service work for compliance and tracking
- Inspect refrigeration systems for safety, efficiency, and code compliance
- Coordinate with store management and other technicians to schedule maintenance activities
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical skills
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Reliability and a commitment to safety in all work activities
- EPA certification or willingness to obtain it
- Valid driver's license for travel between store locations
