Recreation Facilities Coordinator

The City of Upper Arlington is seeking a Part‑Time Recreation Facilities Coordinator to support special events, rentals, and community activities at the Bob Crane Community Center, the Amelita Mirolo Barn, and additional park facilities in San Margherita, Franklin County.

About the Role

Reporting to the Rental Coordinator, this position helps ensure smooth operation of facility rentals and public programs while delivering excellent customer service to residents and visitors. The role is part‑time and requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends as events dictate.

What You'll Do

• Assist customers with booking inquiries, contract processing, and payment collection for venue rentals.
• Coordinate setup and teardown logistics for special events, meetings, and community programs.
• Maintain accurate records of reservations, facility usage, and equipment inventory.
• Ensure all spaces meet safety and cleanliness standards before and after each use.
• Provide on‑site support during events, addressing participant needs and troubleshooting issues.
• Collaborate with parks and recreation staff to promote facility availability and community programs.
• Adhere to city policies, procedures, and applicable regulations governing public facility use.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in recreation, hospitality, or related fields is a plus.
• Experience in customer service, event coordination, or facility management preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and courteously with diverse groups.
• Organized and detail‑oriented, capable of managing multiple reservations and schedules simultaneously.
• Comfortable working varied hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate event schedules.
• Basic proficiency with office software and reservation systems; willingness to learn city‑specific platforms.
• Ability to lift and move light equipment as needed for event setup.
