About the Role
As a full-time Real Estate Development Manager based in Memphis, Shelby County, you will own the complete site-development lifecycle across your assigned markets. From scouting and assessing potential locations to negotiating terms and steering each project through to opening day, you will be the driving force behind AutoZone's growth footprint. This position suits a self-starter who thrives equally as a deal-sourcing "hunter" and a hands-on operator who can carry projects across the finish line.
Key Responsibilities
- Pinpoint and qualify new retail real estate opportunities throughout your designated territories.
- Analyze candidate sites for market fit, viability, and long-term growth potential.
- Lead lease and purchase negotiations to secure favorable terms for the company.
- Manage each development from initial site selection all the way through store opening.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts to keep projects on schedule and aligned with strategic objectives.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective locations to fuel ongoing expansion.
Qualifications
- Proven background in commercial or retail real estate development, site acquisition, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close complex transactions.
- Highly organized and self-directed, capable of juggling multiple projects at once.
- Strategic mindset paired with the drive to execute and deliver tangible results.
- Comfortable operating both independently in the field and collaboratively across teams.
