Public Works Technician

Join Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Ind as a Public Works Technician and support essential community infrastructure in Coarsegold, Madera County. This is a full-time, non-exempt position based entirely onsite in our Public Works Department, where you'll maintain and improve the systems that serve our community.

About the Role

As a Public Works Technician, you'll be the hands-on professional responsible for keeping our community's infrastructure safe, functional, and well-maintained. Working under the Public Works Supervisor, you'll tackle a variety of maintenance and repair tasks across roads, drainage systems, utilities, and public facilities—responding to both routine needs and emergency situations.

What You'll Do

• Perform maintenance, repair, and inspection work on public infrastructure including roads, drainage, and facilities
• Operate and maintain public works equipment safely and effectively
• Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot infrastructure issues promptly
• Maintain detailed records of work completed, materials used, and hours logged
• Follow all safety regulations and protocols to protect yourself and community members
• Collaborate with your supervisor and team members on ongoing and seasonal projects
• Support emergency repairs and facility improvements as needed

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• Physical ability to perform hands-on work and lift regularly up to 50 pounds
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with or willingness to learn public works equipment operation
• Strong reliability and commitment to safety standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver's license
