Join Idaho National Laboratory as a Property Reutilization Technician in Eagle Rock, Bonneville County. About the Role
As a Property Reutilization Technician at INL, you'll play a key role in processing surplus assets, ensuring they are disposed of or transferred in accordance with strict federal and Department of Energy standards. You'll be the point person for evaluating property condition, compliance status, and eligibility for transfer to government agencies and eligible recipients, while maintaining meticulous documentation throughout the process.
What You'll Do
- Receive and review requests for excess government personal property, assessing condition, functionality, and strategic value
- Evaluate items for environmental hazards, security concerns, and export control compliance before disposition
- Apply federal regulations, GSA guidelines, CFR requirements, and Department of Energy directives to ensure proper surplus material processing
- Coordinate transfers and donations to eligible government agencies and authorized recipients
- Prepare documentation, maintain detailed records, and support the complete property life-cycle from intake through final disposition
- Collaborate with departments across INL to identify and process surplus materials efficiently and compliantly
What We're Looking For
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex federal compliance requirements
- Experience with property management, inventory control, or government surplus operations—or equivalent demonstrated capability
- Familiarity with federal regulations (CFR, GSA rules, DOE policies) preferred
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
- Willingness to learn and apply government property management best practices
