About the Role
As a Property Appraiser with Twin Falls County, you'll contribute to the county's essential property assessment mission by evaluating residential, commercial, and agricultural properties. Working with the Assessor's Office, you'll apply analytical expertise and field knowledge to ensure equitable valuations that serve as the foundation for the county's tax assessment process.
What You'll Do
- Perform comprehensive field inspections of properties throughout Twin Falls County to document physical characteristics, condition, and improvements
- Analyze property data, market trends, and comparable sales information to support accurate valuations
- Maintain and update detailed property records within the County's Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) system
- Research property deeds, ownership transfers, and transaction history to ensure records are complete and current
- Prepare valuation documentation and support property assessment determinations
- Respond to property owner inquiries with professional guidance on appraisal methodologies and assessed values
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated skill in property analysis and appraisal research with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency with CAMA systems and familiarity with appraisal software
- Ability to conduct field inspections independently and navigate varied property types and terrain
- Knowledge of real property characteristics, land use classifications, and ad valorem tax principles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with assessors, property owners, and the public
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for fieldwork throughout Twin Falls County
