Project Engineer- Cavalier, ND

Accura Engineering is seeking a Project Engineer- Cavalier, ND to join its team in Billings, Yellowstone County.

About the Role

This full‑time position directs construction projects for a federal facility located at Cavalier SFB in Cavalier, North Dakota. The engineer will serve as the central point of contact between Accura Engineering, subcontractors, and government stakeholders, ensuring that work proceeds safely, on schedule, and within budget.

What You'll Do

• Direct the full lifecycle of construction initiatives, guiding them from initial planning through execution to final closeout.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, cost estimates, and resource plans using industry‑standard scheduling tools.
• Coordinate daily activities with contractors, monitor progress against milestones, and adjust plans to address changes or delays.
• Conduct regular site visits to verify compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
• Prepare and distribute progress reports, risk assessments, and change‑order documentation to project teams and client representatives.
• Facilitate meetings among design, construction, and regulatory parties to resolve issues and maintain clear communication.
• Support the closeout process by overseeing punch‑list completion, final inspections, and the transfer of as‑built records.

What We're Looking For

• Must be a United States citizen and able to successfully complete a federal background review and drug screen.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, electrical engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Proven experience managing construction projects, preferably within a government or defense environment.
• Strong working knowledge of project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
• Effective communicator capable of producing clear technical documentation and presenting information to diverse audiences.
• Familiarity with construction safety programs, OSHA guidelines, and federal contracting procedures.
