Professional Expert – Health Sciences

Pasadena Area Community College District is seeking three dedicated Professional Experts in Health Sciences to strengthen the hands-on laboratory experience within its Nursing and Allied Health programs in Pasadena, Los Angeles County.

About the Role

As a Professional Expert - Health Sciences, you will play a vital part in the Health Sciences Division at Pasadena City College, helping to deliver high-quality laboratory instruction and support to nursing and allied health students. This is a full-time, on-campus position based in Pasadena, Los Angeles County, paying an hourly rate of $28.00. The standard schedule runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with weekly hours ranging between 20 and 40. Some evening availability may be needed to accommodate campus events.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist faculty in preparing, setting up, and maintaining laboratory classes for Nursing and Allied Health courses.
• Provide direct support to students during practical lab sessions to reinforce clinical and technical skills.
• Help organize equipment, supplies, and learning materials so labs run smoothly and safely.
• Contribute to a supportive, well-prepared learning environment across the Health Sciences Division.
• Adapt scheduling as needed to support campus events, including occasional evening hours.

Qualifications

• Background, training, or experience relevant to health sciences, nursing, or allied health fields.
• Ability to support laboratory-based instruction and assist students in a college learning setting.
• Reliability to maintain a consistent weekday schedule and flexibility for occasional evening event coverage.
