Produce Manager, Grocery Retail

Executive Leadership Solutions is hiring a full-time Produce Manager in Lake, Clayton County to take ownership of a high-traffic grocery retail produce department and the team behind it.

About the Role

As the Produce Manager, you will direct day-to-day operations of the produce department for a busy grocery retailer, reporting to the Store Director. This on-site position blends hands-on product handling with people leadership, holding accountability for quality standards, presentation, food safety, and the department's bottom line. It is a non-exempt role and may fall under a collective bargaining unit where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all functions of the produce department, from receiving and preparation through display and sell-through.
• Build eye-catching, well-stocked merchandising that drives sales and reflects seasonal freshness.
• Enforce food safety and sanitation requirements to keep the department fully compliant.
• Deliver attentive customer service and resolve shopper questions and concerns on the floor.
• Manage department financial performance, including ordering, shrink control, and margin goals.
• Coach, schedule, and develop produce associates to build a dependable, high-performing crew.

Qualifications

• Prior experience supervising a produce or fresh-foods department within grocery retail.
• Working knowledge of food safety standards, proper handling, and sanitation practices.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to train, schedule, and motivate a team.
• Comfort managing operational and financial metrics such as inventory, ordering, and shrink.
• A customer-first mindset and the flexibility to work an on-site retail schedule in Lake, Clayton County.
