Pie Insurance is hiring a Principal People Partner to lead our human resources strategy and build world-class teams across the United States. This is a full-time, in-office position where you'll shape culture, drive talent acquisition, and scale operations for a rapidly growing insurtech company transforming commercial insurance for small business owners.
About the Role
As Principal People Partner at Pie Insurance, you will own the human capital strategy for our organization. You'll partner with executive leadership to design and execute talent strategies that attract, develop, and retain the best builders and innovators in our space. This is a strategic, hands-on role where you'll influence company culture, establish people practices, and ensure our team reflects the diverse perspectives and entrepreneurial spirit that drive our mission.
What You'll Do
- Develop and oversee comprehensive talent acquisition strategies, building pipelines for critical roles across engineering, product, operations, and customer-facing teams
- Design and lead people programs including compensation, benefits, professional development, and employee engagement initiatives
- Partner with department leaders on organizational planning, team structure optimization, and succession planning
- Establish and maintain strong employee relations practices, including performance management and conflict resolution
- Cultivate an inclusive, high-performing culture aligned with Pie Insurance's core values and mission
- Build scalable HR operations, policies, and infrastructure that support rapid growth
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team on workforce planning and people-related business challenges
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a principal or senior partner role
- Proven track record building talent functions from the ground up or scaling existing teams
- Strategic mindset with ability to translate business objectives into people initiatives
- Strong expertise in talent acquisition, including recruitment strategy and sourcing for competitive tech and operations roles
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels
- Experience with HR technology platforms, data analytics, and metrics-driven decision making
- Passion for building inclusive, diverse, and engaged teams
