Principal Engineer

At Vilgain, we build our own technology because we do not want to be limited by off-the-shelf systems. We are growing fast, scaling across markets, and our e-commerce platform sits at the center of both customer experience and business performance. That is why we are looking for a Principal Engineer who will help us take the technical foundations of our platform to the next level.

This is not a role for someone who only wants to maintain existing solutions. We are looking for a strong individual contributor who can lead technically, push things forward, and help us rebuild key parts of our e-commerce stack so they are faster, more scalable, and ready for further growth.

What will be your mission?

• Own key technical initiatives across our e-commerce platform

• Improve customer experience, platform performance, and cost efficiency

• Help split parts of the current monolith into a more scalable architecture

• Drive technical improvements across tracking, integrations, and core platform capabilities

• Make strong technical decisions with both engineering quality and business impact in mind

• Help shape the future architecture of Vilgain’s e-commerce stack

• Solve complex problems with high ownership and strong execution

• Potentially support adjacent areas such as Finance Ops, depending on your profile

Who do we look for?

• Strong Principal Engineer / Tech Lead profile

• Experience building and scaling customer-facing digital products

• Strong background in React and Next.js

• Good understanding of APIs, GraphQL, performance, and scalable system design

• Data-oriented mindset and strong product/business understanding

• High ownership and strong problem-solving ability

• Strong individual contributor who can provide technical leadership

• Experience in e-commerce is a strong advantage
