Kimley-Horn seeks a Practice Builder for Single Family Land Development to lead and expand our practice in Orlando, Orange County, Florida. This full-time position offers the opportunity to build a high-performing land development team while driving growth through strategic client partnerships and operational excellence in the single-family residential sector.

About the Role

As a Practice Builder for Single Family Land Development, you'll take ownership of a growing practice area, combining hands-on project leadership with business development and team management. You'll work across all phases of land development—from entitlements and site planning through infrastructure design and permitting—while cultivating long-term relationships with builders, developers, and municipal partners across Central Florida.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and mentor a land development team, setting direction, fostering collaboration, and developing talent
  • Manage key client relationships and pursue new business opportunities within the single-family development market
  • Oversee land development projects from concept through delivery, ensuring quality, timeliness, and profitability
  • Develop and execute business strategy to grow the Single Family Land Development practice
  • Champion a culture of integrity, accountability, and innovation within your team and across Kimley-Horn
  • Contribute to proposal development and qualifications for key pursuits

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in land development, site planning, or civil engineering with a track record of successful project delivery
  • Strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to develop and execute a business plan
  • Experience leading and building teams in a professional services or consulting environment
  • Excellent client management and business development skills with the ability to cultivate relationships
  • Knowledge of entitlements, permitting, and regulatory processes in Florida or similar markets
  • Professional engineering license (PE) preferred but not required
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with a commitment to integrity and sound business practices
