What You'll Do
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls throughout Wauwatosa
- Patrol assigned districts to maintain community safety and prevent criminal activity
- Investigate incidents and collect evidence according to departmental procedures
- Document incidents and prepare accurate reports
- Engage with community members professionally to resolve conflicts and build relationships
- Enforce local, state, and federal laws consistently and fairly
- Support emergency response efforts and community events
What We're Looking For
- Current, active police officer certification (required for lateral applicants)
- Demonstrated experience as a certified law enforcement officer
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license or ability to obtain one
- Ability to pass comprehensive background investigation
- Ability to pass psychological evaluation
- Physical capability to perform job duties
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Commitment to community-oriented policing principles
