SpecialtyCare is now hiring a full-time Perfusionist in Saint Lucie West, St. Lucie County (Fort Pierce, Florida) to become the fourth member of a respected cardiac surgery team. About the Role
As a Perfusionist with SpecialtyCare in St. Lucie County, you will operate and manage the heart-lung bypass equipment that keeps patients alive during open-heart procedures. The position is staff-based and full-time at 40 hours per week, structured around 8-hour shifts. Our Fort Pierce program handles roughly 450 cardiac cases each year, and you will collaborate directly with three accomplished surgeons to support successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, prime, and run cardiopulmonary bypass circuits during open-heart surgeries
- Continuously monitor patients' physiological status and adjust perfusion parameters as needed
- Partner closely with cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team across approximately 450 heart cases annually
- Maintain perfusion equipment and ensure readiness for both scheduled and urgent procedures
- Keep accurate clinical records and uphold all safety and quality standards
Qualifications
- Background as an Allied Health Professional in perfusion
- Ability to perform reliably within a busy cardiac surgery environment
- Comfort working 8-hour shifts on a full-time, ongoing schedule
- Strong teamwork skills to integrate with established surgeons and clinical staff
