About This Position

We are seeking a skilled Penetration Tester to join our team in Barton, South Canberra. As a Penetration Tester at Australian Information Security Association (AISA), you will be responsible for identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities within our systems. The ideal candidate should have experience in ethical hacking, vulnerability assessment, and the ability to think like an attacker.

Core Duties

• Conduct penetration testing on various information technology systems to identify potential security risks
• Analyze system configurations, network architecture, and software applications for vulnerabilities
• Develop and execute test plans to simulate cyber-attacks in a controlled environment
• Document findings, provide detailed reports, and recommend remediation strategies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security measures are integrated into the development lifecycle

What You Bring

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in penetration testing or a related field
• Demonstrated knowledge of ethical hacking techniques and tools (e.g., Metasploit, Nmap)
• Familiarity with web application security, network protocols, and operating systems
• Experience with vulnerability assessment frameworks such as Nessus or OpenVAS
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment
• A degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field is preferred but not mandatory
