The Opportunity

The Peintre Industriel position at VAI THIERS places you at the centre of surface coating and finishing tasks that keep industrial assets protected and presentation-ready across the Saint-Rémy-sur-Durolle and Thiers area. You will work full time applying specialised coatings while contributing to reliable, long-lasting finishes that meet operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare metal, machinery and component surfaces through degreasing, sanding, filling and masking before any coating begins.
• Mix primers, industrial paints and protective finishes to the correct viscosity and colour standards.
• Apply coatings evenly using spray systems, brushes or rollers according to product data sheets and specified film thickness.
• Inspect completed work for runs, pinholes or adhesion issues and carry out any necessary touch-up or rework.
• Clean and maintain spray guns, booths, booth filters and personal protective equipment at the end of each shift.
• Follow all site health, safety and environmental procedures relating to solvents, compressed air and confined workspaces.

Requirements

• Practical experience as a Peintre Industriel or in a closely related industrial painting and coating role.
• Sound knowledge of surface preparation methods, coating systems and application techniques suited to industrial environments.
• Ability to read paint specifications and achieve consistent coverage without excessive overspray or material waste.
• Comfort operating spray equipment, compressed-air tools and basic measuring instruments for wet-film thickness.
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods, work at height when needed and lift moderate loads of paint and equipment.
• Strong awareness of personal protective equipment use and hazardous product handling.
