About the Role
As a Peer Support Specialist, you'll be a critical member of our crisis response team, providing immediate support to people in acute distress. You'll use your understanding of personal recovery and resilience to connect with individuals, help them access resources, and support their stabilization. Your presence and perspective will be invaluable in helping clients feel heard and hopeful during their most difficult moments.
What You'll Do
- Respond to crisis calls and meet with clients in their communities as part of the ASAP Crisis Response Program
- Provide emotional support and practical assistance to individuals experiencing acute mental health or substance use crises
- Connect clients with appropriate community resources and services
- Document interactions and maintain accurate case records
- Collaborate with clinical team members to support comprehensive care planning
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
