What This Role Involves

As a Patient Representative I at Dana-Farber, you'll serve as an essential bridge between patients and our medical teams. Working in our call center environment at the Dana-Farber Welcome Center, you'll be among the first people patients interact with, shaping their perception of our institute and ensuring a smooth entry into our care systems. This role combines telephone support, administrative coordination, and genuine patient advocacy to create welcoming experiences every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer incoming patient calls and direct inquiries to appropriate departments or medical staff
• Manage patient registration and intake processes with accuracy and sensitivity
• Schedule appointments and coordinate logistics for patient visits
• Provide information about Dana-Farber services, policies, and procedures
• Document patient interactions and maintain accurate records in compliance with healthcare standards
• Support administrative workflows that enable seamless patient care delivery
• Address patient questions and concerns with empathy and professionalism

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Proven customer service experience, ideally in a healthcare or call center setting
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple calls or requests efficiently
• Reliable, organized approach to scheduling and documentation
• Compassion and patience when working with patients facing medical challenges
• Proficiency with computer systems and standard office software
