About the Role
As a Low Voltage Telecommunications Technician with Protec Solutions LLC, you will help deliver and service telecom infrastructure across customer sites in and around East Brunswick. The position involves working with structured cabling and related equipment, diagnosing issues, and keeping systems running smoothly. We welcome both part-time and full-time candidates who are motivated, detail-oriented, and ready to learn on the job.
Key Responsibilities
- Pull, terminate, and label copper cabling, including Cat5 and Cat6 runs
- Carry out a variety of telecommunications installations, ongoing maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Set up and verify network and communications hardware such as routers, switches, patch panels, phones, and cameras
- Perform fiber optic installation and testing (a valued plus for this role)
- Communicate clearly with team members and customers throughout each project
Qualifications
- Reliable, self-motivated work ethic with attention to detail
- Hands-on familiarity with running, terminating, and labeling Cat5/Cat6 and fiber cabling preferred
- Experience installing and testing routers, patch panels, switches, phones, and cameras
- Fiber optic install and testing experience is an advantage
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to support a range of low voltage tasks
