Brownwood, City of is hiring a full-time Parks Light Equipment Operator I to maintain and operate equipment across Brownwood and Brown County parks and grounds. This non-supervisory role combines skilled machinery operation with landscape maintenance to keep our community's outdoor spaces accessible and well-maintained.
About the Role
As a Parks Light Equipment Operator I, you'll manage the specialized equipment that sustains Brownwood's parks and municipal properties. This full-time position focuses on the daily operation of landscape machinery and the maintenance of over 200 acres of city-owned grounds and vacant lots throughout Brownwood.
What You'll Do
- Operate tractors equipped with mowers and related landscape maintenance equipment with precision and care
- Maintain over 200 acres of city-owned parks, grounds, and properties within Brownwood
- Demonstrate above-average driving ability and fine motor control in all equipment operation
- Execute routine and seasonal grounds maintenance requiring mechanical skill and attention to detail
- Embody the City of Brownwood's "I SERVE" core values and commitment to excellence in all work activities
What We're Looking For
- Proven ability to operate tractors, mowers, and related landscape equipment safely and effectively
- Strong driving skills and the physical capability to manipulate equipment controls consistently
- Reliable, detail-oriented approach to grounds maintenance and equipment operation
- Willingness to represent and uphold the City of Brownwood's organizational standards and values
- Valid driver's license
