About the Role
As a Bilingual Paralegal with the Tulare County Superior Court in Visalia, you will work under general supervision in a technical-level capacity, lending research and analytical support to legal professionals. A defining feature of this position is its language component: you will dedicate at least 40 percent of your working hours to interpreting and translating for individuals who do not speak English and who have business before the court.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and analysis to assist attorneys and judges in their casework.
- Provide accurate translation and interpretation services for non-English-speaking court patrons during at least 40 percent of your scheduled time.
- Read, write, and speak fluently in a language other than English to facilitate clear communication.
- Carry out additional technical and administrative duties as assigned within the court setting.
Qualifications
- Fluency — reading, writing, and speaking — in a language other than English, in addition to English.
- Demonstrated ability to perform legal research, analysis, and related paralegal functions.
- Capacity to work effectively under general supervision in a professional court environment.
- Comfort delivering interpretation services directly to the public.
