Securitas is hiring full-time Overnight Security Officers for multiple immediate openings across Boston and Cambridge, MA — with consistent shifts running 11pm–7am or 12am–8am at a variety of client sites throughout Suffolk County.
About the Role
As an Overnight Security Officer with Securitas in Boston, you'll serve as the primary on-site presence protecting people, property, and assets during the overnight hours. This full-time position pays between $20.00 and $24.00 per hour depending on site and experience. Multiple shift options are available — 11pm to 7am or 12am to 8am — at locations spread across the Boston and Cambridge metro area.
What You'll Do
- Conduct scheduled and random foot patrols of assigned facilities to deter unauthorized entry, theft, and safety hazards
- Monitor and control access points, verifying the identity of individuals entering restricted areas
- Respond to alarms, disturbances, and emergencies, escalating to local authorities when warranted
- Maintain detailed, accurate written logs of overnight activity, observations, and incidents
- Enforce site-specific client policies and uphold a safe, professional environment
- Communicate clearly with on-site personnel and relay pertinent information during shift transitions
- Identify and report potential security vulnerabilities, hazards, or suspicious behavior
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Availability to work overnight shifts (11pm–7am or 12am–8am) on a full-time basis
- Valid Massachusetts Security Officer license or the ability to obtain one prior to starting
- Sound judgment, strong situational awareness, and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Reliability and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and patrol throughout an overnight shift
- Prior background in security, the military, or law enforcement is an asset, though not required
