Outreach Specialist

Covenant House New Orleans is hiring a full-time Outreach Specialist in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, to be a welcoming first point of contact and a trusted advocate for young people seeking shelter, safety, and support.

About the Role

As an Outreach Specialist at Covenant House New Orleans, you will help create a safe, affirming, and respectful space for every youth who walks through our doors. Acting as both a frontline caregiver and a community ambassador, you will represent the agency in line with the Covenant House Mission Statement, its Five Principles, and its Core Values, while connecting vulnerable young people to the care and resources they need.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and engage youth seeking services, ensuring a welcoming and secure environment at all times.
• Provide direct care, guidance, and emotional support to young people accessing the program.
• Advocate on behalf of youth and help link them to internal services and community resources.
• Represent Covenant House New Orleans in the broader New Orleans community in a manner consistent with the agency's mission and values.
• Uphold the Covenant House Five Principles and Core Values in every interaction.

Qualifications

• A genuine commitment to serving at-risk and homeless youth with compassion and dignity.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building trust with young people and community partners.
• The ability to remain calm, empathetic, and professional in a fast-paced direct-care setting.
• Alignment with the Covenant House Mission Statement, Five Principles, and Core Values.
• Availability for full-time, on-site work in New Orleans, Orleans Parish (this is not a remote position).
