About the Role
This is an over-the-road (OTR) flatbed position structured as a 1099 contract driver role (solo). Because our owner is an active driver too, the day-to-day realities of the job are understood firsthand — and that perspective shapes how we support every driver on our team. New to flatbed? No problem. Full training on flatbed operations is provided for qualified drivers without prior flatbed experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a flatbed trailer on long-haul OTR routes safely and on schedule.
- Average roughly 2,000 to 3,000 miles per week.
- Handle tarping on approximately 25% of loads.
- Secure freight properly and comply with applicable transportation regulations.
- No driver load/unload required.
- Maintain communication regarding routes, deliveries, and home-time planning.
Compensation & Home Time
- Estimated gross earnings of $1,500 to $2,100 per week on average.
- Pay rate of approximately $0.70 per mile (CPM).
- Expected time out of 5 to 10 days, with flexibility to stay out longer if you prefer.
Qualifications
- Eligible to work as a solo 1099 contract driver.
- Valid commercial driver's license and willingness to run OTR routes.
- Flatbed experience preferred but not required — training is available for the right candidate.
- Comfortable with tarping duties and extended time on the road.
