OTR CDL-A FLATBED / STEPDECK DRIVERS (1099)

Vista Trans Holding is recruiting experienced Over-the-Road (OTR) CDL-A drivers to operate flatbed and stepdeck equipment on long-haul routes. This full-time position is based in Ida, Monroe County, and is structured as a 1099 independent contractor role for drivers ready to maximize earnings with competitive freight rates.

About the Role

As an OTR flatbed or stepdeck driver with Vista Trans Holding, you'll operate commercial vehicles for regional and long-distance freight transport. You'll be responsible for safe, on-time delivery of premium cargo, equipment operation, and compliance with federal and state transportation regulations. This is hands-on work for drivers who take pride in their craft and want to build a sustainable, high-earning career.

What You'll Do

• Operate CDL-A commercial vehicles for long-haul over-the-road freight runs
• Transport flatbed and stepdeck loads safely and on schedule
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain comprehensive records
• Manage cargo securement and load safety in compliance with DOT standards
• Maintain accurate logbooks and driving logs per federal regulations
• Meet delivery windows while prioritizing safety and professional operation
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and consignees

What We're Looking For

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) with clean driving record
• Proven experience operating flatbed and/or stepdeck equipment on OTR routes
• Strong knowledge of cargo securement, weight distribution, and DOT compliance
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively on extended routes
• Professional attitude and commitment to safety and reliability
• Willingness to work as a 1099 independent contractor

Compensation

Drivers earn $0.85 per mile or 30% of gross revenue. Weekly earnings typically average $8,500–$13,000 depending on load availability and route assignment.
