Carlsbad Medical Center in Carlsbad, Eddy County, New Mexico is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for an Operating Room travel nursing position.

About the Role

This full-time travel assignment offers the opportunity to deliver skilled perioperative nursing care in a dynamic surgical environment. You'll work with Carlsbad Medical Center's surgical team to support complex procedures and ensure optimal patient outcomes throughout the operative experience.

What You'll Do

• Establish and maintain sterile operating room environments, including equipment preparation and setup
• Assist surgeons and surgical teams during operative procedures
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to intraoperative changes
• Handle surgical instruments and manage supplies during cases
• Provide perioperative patient care from preoperative assessment through initial recovery
• Document all OR activities and maintain compliance with facility protocols
• Support a culture of patient safety and infection control

Required Qualifications

• Current New Mexico Registered Nurse license or valid multi-state compact license
• Minimum 2 years of operating room nursing experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical setting
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Strong clinical judgment and attention to safety
