The work
The Network security Engineer will be responsible for implementing and overseeing security capabilities, processes, and functions related to Network Security for the Department of Education Program at Accenture Federal Services. Reporting to the Security Engineering Manager, this role requires collaboration with developers, technical architects, operations, and other security team members to achieve program objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Evaluate and provide technical security architecture guidance in the assessment, design and implementation of Network Service in a primarily cloud environment
- Collaborate with Network, cloud security, and infrastructure teams to embed security and best practices into applications and development process
- Maintain and enhance security solutions on Zscaler SASE, Akamai and various Cloud native network security products
- Support troubleshooting efforts of network security tools & services as needed Contribute to maturing process, policy, and standards guidance such as TIC 3.0 in a rapidly changing field
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses specific to network security Develop and maintain documentation related to security protocols, compliance measures, and incident response plans
- Identify and solution for gaps related to system zero trust maturity including things such as conditional access, micro-segmentation, application-level inspection
Here’s what you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience with network security
- 3+ years of experience with cloud environments AWS, GCP, or Azure
- 2+ year of experience with Zscaler ZIA or ZPA
- Experience working in a regulated environment and experience with common CSF such as NIST, CIS, CISA Zero Trust
Nice to have:
- Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity
- Familiarity with operating in an agile development environment Experience maintaining WAF products such as AWS WAF or similar Experience with Akamai CDN and Security Services Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or AWS Certified Security – Specialty, AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty
Eligibility requirements:
- Must be eligible to obtain a government Public Trust Clearance
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
