About the Role
As the Motor Mechanic (General) at Punjab Auto Motors Pty Ltd you will focus on keeping motor vehicles operating safely and efficiently for clients across the Somerton and wider Hume Area community. Key Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicles thoroughly to identify mechanical and related faults using appropriate tools and procedures
- Complete engine, transmission, brake, suspension and other core-system repairs to return cars and light commercial vehicles to reliable running order
- Carry out routine servicing intervals, fluid changes, adjustments and preventative maintenance according to vehicle requirements
- Select, remove and install replacement components, ensuring correct torque settings and system calibration
- Document work performed, parts fitted and any follow-up recommendations for each job
- Follow established workshop safety rules, keep tools and workspaces organised and report hazards promptly
Who We're Looking For
- Solid practical background as a Motor Mechanic (General) with confidence across general automotive repair
- Sound knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems, diagnostics and repair methods
- Skilled use of hand tools, diagnostic equipment and measuring instruments
- Careful attention to detail, methodical problem-solving and ability to manage multiple tasks under time pressure
- Willingness to work cooperatively with colleagues in a workshop environment and communicate clearly with supervisors about job progress
