Mindrift is seeking a Mortgage Underwriter with AI training expertise for a part-time, project-based role in Queens, New York City. You'll leverage your mortgage underwriting background to evaluate, test, and improve AI systems developed by leading technology companies.

What You'll Do
- Evaluate AI-generated mortgage underwriting assessments and decisions for accuracy and completeness
- Test AI systems' ability to analyze lending documents, risk profiles, and underwriting scenarios
- Provide detailed feedback and identify gaps in AI reasoning or mortgage domain knowledge
- Contribute to iterative improvements of AI models used in lending and financial services
- Document your assessments clearly to help engineering teams refine their systems
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a mortgage underwriter or in mortgage lending/underwriting roles
- Strong understanding of underwriting principles, loan documentation, and lending compliance
- Fluent English proficiency, both written and spoken—you'll need to articulate technical mortgage concepts and AI evaluation findings clearly
- Ability to work independently on project-based tasks with flexible, part-time hours
- Detail-oriented mindset and capacity to assess AI performance objectively
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and AI platforms
