Meat and Seafood Manager

About the Role

As Meat and Seafood Manager at The Fresh Market in Annapolis, you will own the day-to-day performance of one of the store's most important departments. This is a full-time, in-store position where you'll set the standard for product quality, team performance, and the kind of personalized service that keeps guests coming back. What You'll Do

• Oversee all department operations, including ordering, receiving, inventory control, and merchandising of fresh meats and seafood
• Maintain strict standards for product freshness, rotation, and presentation in both the case and behind the counter
• Recruit, train, schedule, and develop department team members to deliver outstanding guest interactions
• Engage guests directly — offering product knowledge, preparation tips, and personalized recommendations
• Monitor department sales, margin, and shrink, taking corrective action to hit financial targets
• Enforce all food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance requirements
• Partner with store leadership to execute promotions, seasonal features, and special-order programs

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience in a meat and/or seafood department, including prior supervisory or management responsibility
• Strong knowledge of meat cuts, seafood species, quality grading, and proper handling techniques
• Proven ability to lead a team in a fast-paced retail food environment
• Commitment to food safety best practices and a clean, well-organized department
• Guest-first mindset with confident, friendly communication skills
• Comfort with basic retail math — ordering, inventory variance, and sales reporting
