Manager, Retail Sales – Licensing

The Manager, Retail Sales reports to the Director, Retail Development and focuses on discovering and advancing opportunities for Hasbro brands across product categories like Toys, Apparel, and more. In addition to being the Hasbro brand ambassador to the retailer, this role involves working closely with internal teams such as Category, Franchise Strategy, Product Development, and Retail Marketing. The Manager will also engage licensee partners to support and improve product placement at each account. Additionally, you will collaborate with Category and Creative teams to develop, pitch, award, and launch merchandise programs that increase product placement and achieve yearly revenue targets.

This position is located at our Hasbro office in Los Angeles, CA. It follows a Hybrid model, requiring at least three full days per week to be onsite 

A Day in the Life as Manager, Retail Sales – Licensing:

  • The Manager is the primary expert on essential category and departmental strategies for internal teams. Stays informed about organizational structure changes and buyer developments and shares this information with internal and external partners promptly.
  • Develops strategies that improve Hasbro IP product and placement across all product categories including Toys, Apparel, Accessories, Footwear, Home, Publishing, Pet, Food, Health and Beauty that align with the broader Annual Account Plans and corresponding revenue deliverables connected to goal setting.
  • Collaborates with Hasbro Toy and Games sales and marketing teams to assist and grow licensee partner placement at accounts.
  • Manages and leads each buyer meeting agenda and presentation, regularly offering timely recaps to internal and external associates.
  • Develops positive connections with licensees’ retail account teams to support the sell in of Hasbro brands and IP.
  • Regularly reviews performance of existing licensees and makes recommendations to Category based on buyer feedback, first-hand experience, and program opportunities.
  • Meets with licensees either independently or alongside Category and actively maintains and shares the meeting agenda, key takeaways/notes, and outlines next steps.
  • Contributes to “top to top” presentations and other key meetings throughout the year. This includes building account and category-specific strategies into slides.
  • Has an entrepreneurial spirit and thinks about new ways to work or drive new processes, go to market, and thinks big from conceptualization through to execution.
  • Can manage a wide range of tasks or situations, demonstrating broad skills and the ability to switch between roles or activities.
  • Keeps track of travel and entertainment expenses aligned with the company budget, ensuring all expense reports are filed on time.
  • Completes additional projects and assignments, handles additional retailers or lines of business as assigned or as needed for our overall business.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed to accounts, internal meetings and trade shows.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 4+ years of National Account CPG sales experience, ideally experience in the Fashion, Home and Toy business.
  • Deep knowledge of retail business including promotional partnerships/packaged goods partners, home entertainment, and consumer products businesses.
  • Experience in licensing a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate consistently and effectively with supervisor, Hasbro colleagues, and cross-divisional collaborators.
  • Extensive background in fashion items, accessories, footwear, and home categories. Toy experience is desired.
  • Ability to engage with retail buyers on a consistent basis.
  • Demonstrates ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly adaptable and resourceful; proactive versus reactive.

The pay transparency range for this role is listed below. The hiring range will vary based on factors such as experience, skills, location and market conditions. Additionally, employees may be eligible for annual and long-term incentives as part of their overall compensation package.
