Manager, Project Safety

Cupertino Electric is hiring a full-time Manager, Project Safety in New Chicago, Lake County to champion a culture of safety across high-impact data center and energy construction projects.

About the Role

As Manager, Project Safety, you will be the on-site safety leader who keeps complex electrical and energy builds compliant, protected, and running smoothly. This is primarily an on-site position, based either at the active project location or in the office in New Chicago, Lake County. Travel frequency and duration vary depending on project assignments. The role offers a salary range of $95,000 to $125,000 and is eligible for the company's annual performance bonus plan.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee safety programs on data center and energy construction projects from start to finish.
• Monitor job sites to ensure full compliance with OSHA standards and Cupertino Electric safety policies.
• Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations, then drive corrective action.
• Coach crews, subcontractors, and supervisors on safe work practices and field expectations.
• Deliver toolbox talks, orientations, and ongoing safety training to project teams.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, reporting, and records throughout each project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing safety on construction, electrical, or energy-related projects.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety best practices.
• Ability to work primarily on-site and travel to project locations as assignments require.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to influence safety behavior across all levels.
• Detail-oriented approach to inspections, reporting, and compliance follow-through.
