About the Role
As the Manager: Human Resources (Attorneys) at Mayer Brown's West Loop, Chicago office, you will lead HR initiatives tailored specifically to the firm's attorney population. This is a hands-on leadership position partnering with firm leadership to shape a supportive, high-performing environment for legal professionals operating at the highest levels of complex transactions and disputes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee human resources programs and day-to-day operations dedicated to the firm's attorneys.
- Collaborate with practice group leaders and firm management on talent strategy and workforce planning.
- Guide performance management, professional development, and employee relations matters for attorney staff.
- Ensure HR policies and practices align with the firm's standards of excellence and collegial culture.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on sensitive personnel issues, fostering retention and engagement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing human resources functions, ideally within a law firm or professional services setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to advise senior stakeholders and handle confidential matters with discretion.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities suited to a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Sound judgment in performance management, employee relations, and talent development.
- Willingness to work full-time, on-site in the West Loop, Chicago office.
