About the Role
As Manager - Fire Protection Engineering at Jensen Hughes, you'll oversee the technical and strategic direction of fire safety projects, from initial client consultation through final design implementation. This role combines hands-on engineering expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring projects meet both client objectives and the highest industry standards.
What You'll Do
- Direct fire protection engineering teams on multifaceted projects spanning commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities
- Serve as primary technical contact for major clients, translating their risk and safety needs into comprehensive fire protection strategies
- Oversee design development, code compliance review, and regulatory submissions in coordination with architects and building systems consultants
- Mentor junior engineers and design staff, building technical depth across the team
- Ensure project delivery meets timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Stay current with evolving fire codes, life-safety standards, and emerging technologies in fire suppression and detection
What We're Looking For
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in fire protection engineering or equivalent professional credential
- Minimum 10+ years of fire protection engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or project management capacity
- Demonstrated expertise in fire suppression systems, detection and alarm systems, and code-based design analysis
- Strong client relationship and project management skills
- Proficiency with fire modeling, CAD, and industry-standard design software
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across disciplines
