Manager – Environmental Affairs & Safety

Mass General Brigham is seeking an experienced Manager - Environmental Affairs & Safety to lead environmental health and safety initiatives at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain, Suffolk County. This full-time, on-site role is ideal for a safety leader who wants to protect patients, staff, and the surrounding community within a mission-driven not-for-profit healthcare system.

About the Role

As Manager - Environmental Affairs & Safety, you will oversee the programs that keep one of New England's leading hospitals safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible. Working at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain, you will partner with clinical, operational, and administrative teams to maintain a secure environment of care that supports exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day environmental affairs and safety operations across the hospital campus.
• Develop, implement, and monitor policies that meet regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Coordinate hazardous materials handling, waste management, and emergency preparedness programs.
• Lead staff training and education to build a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinicians, facilities, and administrative leaders, to address risks and continuously improve practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in environmental health, safety, or compliance management, ideally within a healthcare or hospital setting.
• Working knowledge of relevant federal, state, and accreditation requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building abilities suited to a high-performing organization.
• Ability to work on-site full-time in Jamaica Plain, Suffolk County.
