Join Lifestyle Communities as a Maintenance Technician II in North Charleston, Charleston County, South Carolina. This is a full-time position supporting our lease-up operations and helping establish a thriving residential community.
About the Role
As Maintenance Technician II, you'll be essential to launching our North Charleston community successfully. During lease-up, you'll help implement maintenance systems, train additional staff, and ensure every unit and common area meets our high standards before residents move in. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you'll transition the property from construction and preparation into full operational readiness, then maintain excellence as our community grows.
What You'll Do
- Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance systems
- Conduct pre-occupancy inspections and coordinate punch-list items with contractors
- Respond promptly to resident maintenance requests and urgent service calls
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform repairs or arrange specialist service as needed
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and track inventory of tools and materials
- Support lease-up activities including unit preparation, safety inspections, and move-in coordination
- Work occasional after-hours emergency calls to serve our residents
What We're Looking For
- Experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role in residential or commercial property management
- Technical competency in at least two major building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or appliances)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset toward residents
- Valid driver's license and dependable transportation
- Flexibility to respond to emergency maintenance needs outside standard hours
