Maintenance Technician

Olympic Steel in Roselle, DuPage County is hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician to support our metal processing operations and keep our facility running safely and efficiently.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Technician at Olympic Steel, you'll play a critical role in maintaining and repairing the equipment that powers our metal product processing operations. This is a hands-on position in a dynamic manufacturing environment where your technical skills directly impact production reliability, equipment uptime, and workplace safety.

What You'll Do

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and machinery
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems using mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems knowledge
• Execute repairs and replacements to restore equipment to working condition
• Follow documented maintenance schedules and safety protocols to minimize unplanned downtime
• Inspect components for wear, damage, or corrosion; replace parts as needed
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs and equipment performance records
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and production support needs
• Contribute to a safety-first culture by adhering to all procedures and best practices

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in a relevant field is a plus
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, maintenance mechanic, or similar manufacturing maintenance role
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, schematics, and work orders
• Hands-on proficiency with common tools and measurement instruments
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
• Reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to safety
• Physical ability to perform maintenance work in an industrial manufacturing setting
