You'll combine diverse technical skills—plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC work—with a commitment to our housing mission: connecting 23 people weekly with stable homes. The role requires you to live on-site at the facility. What You'll Do Execute building repairs and maintenance across multiple systems: plumbing, heating/cooling, electrical work, carpentry, and light construction. Refresh residential units between occupants—painting, deep cleaning, minor remodeling, and repairs to doors, locks, and fixtures. Service plumbing infrastructure: sinks, toilets, water heaters, drainage systems, pumps, and grease traps. Handle flooring: replace tile, linoleum, baseboards, carpeting; shampoo or steam-clean carpet as needed. Perform masonry work—mixing mortar, setting and finishing brickwork. Track preventative maintenance schedules and building audits; complete work orders with accurate documentation. Address safety concerns urgently via the ticketing system; implement temporary safeguards and escalate to management for permanent fixes. Maintain organized, stocked maintenance shops and supply areas. Respond to emergency situations—fires, earthquakes, utility issues—coordinating with management and supporting safe evacuations. Operate hand and power tools competently: drills, saws, joiners, planers, and shop equipment. Participate in on-call rotation schedules as required.
