Maintenance Manager

About the Role

As a Maintenance Manager you will direct the maintenance strategy for a busy furniture production plant, coordinating preventive and corrective work across mechanical, electrical, and building systems. You will partner with production supervisors to minimize downtime, manage a skilled maintenance team, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that keep the plant running efficiently.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs for production machinery, conveyors, and facility utilities.
• Supervise, train, and schedule a team of maintenance technicians and contractors.
• Respond quickly to equipment failures, diagnose root causes, and oversee repairs to restore operations.
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, parts inventory, and service histories using a CMMS.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, local safety regulations, and company environmental standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and production staff to plan equipment upgrades and installation projects.
• Monitor maintenance budgets, control costs, and report key performance indicators to plant leadership.
• Conduct regular safety walks, hazard assessments, and lead incident investigations when needed.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of five years of experience in maintenance supervision or management within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems commonly found in furniture production.
• Proven ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with experience mentoring technicians and managing contractor relationships.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and basic data analysis.
• Commitment to workplace safety, including OSHA standards and lockout/tagging procedures.
• Effective communication abilities to interact with production, engineering, and senior management teams.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field is preferred.
