About the Role
As Maintenance Director for Cedarhurst, you'll manage all facility operations and coordinate a team dedicated to keeping our senior living community in excellent condition. You'll oversee preventive maintenance schedules, respond to maintenance requests promptly, and ensure our buildings and grounds meet high standards of safety and appearance.
What You'll Do
- Direct daily maintenance operations across all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and emergency equipment
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime and extend asset life
- Supervise maintenance staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management
- Respond to emergency maintenance issues and coordinate repairs to minimize resident disruption
- Manage maintenance budgets, track expenses, and negotiate vendor contracts
- Conduct regular facility inspections to identify safety hazards and maintenance needs
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and system upgrades
- Maintain detailed work orders and maintenance records
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
- Support environmental sustainability initiatives within facility operations
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Director or similar leadership role in facility management
- Strong knowledge of building systems and general maintenance practices
- Demonstrated ability to manage staff and oversee operational budgets
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Physical capability to perform maintenance tasks and walk facility grounds regularly
- Professional communication skills and commitment to excellent service
