Join Kosciusko School District as a full-time Maintenance professional, playing a key role in keeping our school facilities safe, clean, and fully operational. This position reports directly to the Director of Facilities and offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to a quality learning environment for our students and staff.
What This Role Involves
Your core responsibility will be maintaining school buildings and grounds in excellent working condition. You'll perform hands-on maintenance work that directly supports the day-to-day operations of our educational facilities, ensuring all spaces are safe, orderly, and ready to support teaching and learning.
Core Duties
- Conduct routine inspections of building systems, structures, and equipment to identify and address maintenance needs before problems escalate
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other facility systems
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain classrooms, corridors, bathrooms, cafeterias, and other school spaces
- Execute repairs to doors, windows, walls, flooring, fixtures, and other building components
- Operate and maintain grounds equipment while keeping outdoor areas neat and safe
- Track maintenance activities and material usage through accurate record-keeping and reporting
- Respond to urgent facility issues and emergency maintenance calls as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Demonstrated background in building maintenance, facilities management, or similar work
- Practical knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, or general carpentry
- Physical capability to regularly lift, carry, and work safely in varied conditions, including heights
- Valid driver's license and dependable transportation
- Strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining professional, safe working practices
