Greater New York Mutual Insurance Company is hiring a full-time Loss Control Field Representative to support its NYC and Long Island territory, based out of our Gramercy Park and Murray Hill, Manhattan offices. About the Role
As a Loss Control Field Representative, you will conduct hands-on inspections of commercial buildings throughout New York City and Long Island. Your assessments help underwriters and policyholders understand exposures, strengthen controls, and reduce the likelihood of property and casualty losses. This is a full-time, on-site position covering the NYC and Long Island region.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out on-site field inspections of commercial buildings across the assigned NYC and Long Island territory.
- Assess property and casualty risks and existing safeguards for both current and prospective policyholders.
- Document each insured's operations, business activities, and methods used to limit property and casualty loss exposures.
- Confirm and classify building construction details to ensure accurate risk evaluation.
- Communicate findings clearly to support underwriting decisions and loss prevention efforts.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of commercial property and casualty risk evaluation and loss control principles.
- Ability to inspect building construction and identify hazards and exposures on-site.
- Strong observational, analytical, and written communication skills for clear reporting.
- Comfort traveling regularly throughout the NYC and Long Island territory to complete field assignments.
