Stillwater Area Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Long-Term Substitute Second Grade Teacher to join the Brookview Elementary School team in Stillwater, Minnesota, delivering consistent, high-quality instruction to young learners during an extended classroom assignment.

This 1.0 FTE long-term substitute position at Brookview Elementary places you at the heart of second-grade learning, providing students with the stability and engaged instruction they deserve. You'll step into an established classroom environment and maintain the instructional momentum that Stillwater Area Public Schools is known for.
What You'll Do
- Deliver daily lesson plans across core second-grade subject areas including literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies
- Create a structured, welcoming classroom environment that supports the social and academic development of 7- and 8-year-old learners
- Monitor student progress, provide timely feedback, and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Maintain accurate attendance, grade records, and communication logs in accordance with district procedures
- Collaborate with grade-level colleagues, support staff, and school administration to ensure continuity of instruction
- Communicate proactively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations
- Uphold Brookview Elementary's positive school culture and follow all building-level routines and procedures
What We're Looking For
- Valid Minnesota teaching license or substitute teaching license (elementary education preferred)
- Demonstrated experience working with elementary-age students, particularly in a K–3 setting
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to build rapport quickly with students
- Familiarity with foundational literacy and numeracy instruction strategies appropriate for second grade
- Ability to follow and implement existing curriculum materials and lesson plans effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with students, families, and staff
- Commitment to high academic standards and an inclusive, supportive learning environment
