POWERX is seeking a Field Service Technician (NETA 3) for a full-time role in Phoenix, Arizona. You'll lead field testing projects and mentor other technicians while maintaining rigorous safety and quality standards.

The Opportunity

Join POWERX as a project leader responsible for managing electrical field testing from start to finish. You'll work on de-energized power equipment, conducting sophisticated measurements and diagnostics, overseeing junior technicians, and producing detailed technical reports. This role combines hands-on technical work with supervisory responsibility—ideal for an experienced technician ready to step into project leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform moderate to advanced electrical measurements and testing on power systems; document findings accurately
  • Oversee and develop co-lead technicians and field crew members; ensure team competency and accountability
  • Manage projects from mobilization through final deliverables, including scheduling and coordination
  • Create technical reports documenting test results, observations, and recommendations with timely submission
  • Install, configure, and maintain test equipment; ensure proper care and storage of instruments and tools
  • Support organizational goals through flexibility and responsiveness to emerging business needs

Qualifications

  • NETA Level 3 certification preferred
  • Minimum 5 years in electrical testing, commissioning, field service, or related technical roles
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or trade school training strongly preferred
  • Solid grasp of electrical theory and power system fundamentals
  • Comfort with Microsoft Office applications for documentation and communication
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to create clear technical documentation
  • Organized mindset with ability to juggle multiple priorities and maintain accuracy under pressure
  • Current driver's license and dependable transportation; prepared to travel approximately 50% of the time
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds; comfort working in confined or tight spaces, climbing, standing for hours, and wearing required safety gear (arc-flash suit, hard hat, glasses, respirator, earplugs, steel-toed boots)
  • Flexibility to work overtime as operational demands require
  • Ability to clear background screening, driving record check, and pre-employment drug testing
  • Bonus qualifications: OSHA 30-hour certification, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, Power DB, or CPR/First Aid/AED training
