About the Role We represent Fortune 500 companies and their insurance carriers in complex, high-exposure litigation across general liability, negligence, premises liability, products liability, New York State Labor Law, and related defense matters. As our Legal Assistant/Receptionist, you'll serve as the professional front line for clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel, while simultaneously delivering critical behind-the-scenes support to our litigation teams. What You'll Do Greet and direct visitors, manage incoming calls, and provide polished customer service to external clients and stakeholders Maintain and coordinate attorney calendars, schedule depositions and court appearances, and oversee conference room logistics Draft and proofread legal correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests, and other case documents Organize and maintain client files, ensuring strict confidentiality and proper document management protocols Support trial preparation by assembling exhibits, tracking court deadlines, and coordinating case materials Handle general office administration including appointments, billing coordination, and vendor management What We're Looking For Proven experience in a legal or corporate reception and administrative role Strong command of legal terminology and experience preparing litigation documents Excellent organizational abilities with capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Professional written and verbal communication skills appropriate for client-facing interactions Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management systems Exceptional attention to detail, discretion, and dedication to confidentiality About Barry McTiernan & Moore Since 1930, Barry McTiernan & Moore has built a reputation as a premier defense litigation practice, defending complex, high-stakes matters for major corporations across multiple practice areas.
