About the Role
As a Legal Assistant (also serving in a paralegal capacity), you'll join a collaborative legal team on behalf of one of Emerson Group's clients in Cherry Hill, NJ. This full-time, on-site position follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and pays $25.00 per hour. Structured as a temp-to-perm opportunity, it's an ideal fit for a motivated candidate looking to build real-world litigation experience and earn a permanent seat with the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative and clerical support to attorneys and legal staff
- Assist with litigation matters, including preparing, organizing, and maintaining case files and documents
- Draft, format, and proofread legal correspondence and filings
- Coordinate scheduling, deadlines, and calendar management for ongoing cases
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and external parties
- Keep records, databases, and case documentation accurate and up to date
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, ideally within a litigation setting
- Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication abilities
- Comfort working independently as well as within a team environment
- Reliability and a self-motivated, professional approach to the workday
