About the Role
The Leader on Duty is the responsible staff member overseeing facility operations, member safety, and security during assigned shifts. This role is essential to our mission of creating a supportive community space where people of all ages feel secure and valued. You'll be the point person on duty, ensuring our YMCA remains a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all visitors.
What You'll Do
- Supervise and support members throughout the facility during your shift
- Monitor facility areas to maintain safety standards and enforce YMCA policies
- Respond promptly to member questions, concerns, and requests
- Conduct opening and closing procedures as assigned
- Report maintenance issues and coordinate facility upkeep
- Assist in emergency situations and perform first aid if certified
- Maintain clear communication with members and staff
- Represent Crossroads YMCA with professionalism and enthusiasm
What We're Looking For
- Motivated and energetic individual with a genuine commitment to member safety
- Availability for evening and weekend shifts
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively under pressure
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Certification in First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)
- Genuine passion for creating a welcoming, inclusive community

Compensation and Schedule
Part-time position. Pay starting at $15.00 per hour, based on experience.
