About the Role
As Lead Building Engineer, you'll be responsible for the comprehensive oversight of building systems and operations. You'll manage the day-to-day performance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure while supervising engineering staff and coordinating with external contractors to keep everything running smoothly.
What You'll Do
- Direct and manage all HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure reliable, safe operation
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules to maximize equipment lifespan and minimize downtime
- Respond promptly to emergency repairs and system failures with practical, effective solutions
- Lead and mentor building engineering team members and manage contractor relationships
- Monitor equipment performance and document maintenance activities and system status
- Ensure all building systems comply with safety codes and regulatory standards
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues independently
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Building Engineer or similar facilities/maintenance leadership role
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate technical staff
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Professional certification (such as EPA or relevant building trades credentials) preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer service orientation
